Release Notes November 2020

Mass data editing

Allows fast, mass editing of attributes and related objects that are linked to processes and objects.

For example, scope filter criteria can be added for a variety of processes. Changes of responsibilities or roles can also be made quickly and clearly.

For more information on how to use this feature, please see the Symbio manual, chapter 1.

Change notice for mass data processing

Method: Glossary

With the glossary you can store technical terms clearly and centrally. This ensures the use of uniform terms for abbreviations or an existing subject matter within an organization. Further explanations and details can be added to the terms.

Saved glossary terms can be linked to the content of processes or objects as usual in detail.

A versioning of the glossary elements is not planned. Maintenance and publication is done by authors.

For more information on how to use this feature, please see the Symbio manual, chapter 1.

Method Glossary

Optimization of Scope filter

Elements without filter criteria can now be hidden. This means that processes and objects for which no filter criteria are defined in the Content detail are not taken into account.

For more information on how to use this feature, please see the Symbio manual, chapter 1.

Extensions in the Symbio standard method

Method: Additional relationships for documents

Documents can now be provided with additional information (responsible organization, inputs/outputs, trainings, learning units). For example, a document can contain a reference to a specific training or link to a responsible organization.

Method: KPIs and inputs / outputs at interfaces placeholder

For interfaces that can be stored as placeholders for a process that is still to be modeled. Here, key figures and inputs/outputs can be defined before the exact process is determined.

Method: Global responsible role for sub processes

By activating this function, the author of a sub-process can redefine a globally executing role.

This is relevant if this sub process is referenced in another process. If the process reference shall be placed under another responsibility, this is possible as an alternative relationship.

This is then displayed in the swimlane view instead of the originally assigned executing role (global).

Extended configuration

As part of the Continous Delivery, new features and additional configuration options are available in the admin area.

An overview of the different groupings:

  • Hide
Allows to hide views or certain attributes in Detail Content.
  • Rename
The administrator renames items using this configuration. The new name replaces the selection and is now used throughout the system. You can also use this function to rename user attribute groups.
  • Add
The administrator can set up user-defined attributes (e.g. text fields or dropdowns).
  • Change
By configuring “Customize” the administrator can change the settings (e.g. mandatory fields) in Symbio.

You find further information in the Symbio Documentation.

Short news

Approver/approver group release level

When activating the Approver, it was previously automatically interpreted as a mandatory attribute. This is now stored as an optional attribute. An admin can still set the Approver as a mandatory attribute using the extended configuration. Valid for individual Approvers and a group.

Maintenance of users and user groups for Quality Managers

In the release cycle it is now possible to maintain groups of quality managers if they have been configured as “available” by an administrator.

In addition, release tasks are now marked as automatically closed if they are no longer required by the action of another participant in the release cycle. This is also visible through a new status in the life cycle diagram.
